Hi, I'm Kaitlynn

I am the founder of Kait Innovation, and I’m passionate about bold, innovative ideas that have the potential to change the world. With my dynamic and unique portfolio, I can adapt to any challenge with creativity and a strong desire to learn. Take a look through my portfolio, and you’ll see I’m not exaggerating.

Matchbooks

I took the word match and ran with the idea of a boxing match—starring a king and a joker in a dramatic (and slightly silly) showdown. The matchbook features moving characters, a castle exterior, and matches that double as a scoreboard, with tiny judges reacting inside. This hands-on project was a fun break from the screen and brought the concept to life in a new way.

Judge By The Cover

Transforming my own screen-printed design into a digital format, I created a dynamic and mysterious book cover. The goal was to craft something that would emerge from the shadows of the shelf, sparking curiosity about the untold story inside.

Seamless Pattern

Created for my dad—who always asks for design favors and happens to be a major Queen fan. I illustrated this pattern from reference images to highlight what makes the band iconic: bold costumes, large performances, and a whole lot of Freddie energy. This project sparked a new love for illustration—and best of all, it earned my dad’s stamp of approval.

Toxic Art

Instagram is a great tool to scroll through and lose a few hours of your day, but sometimes, you can learn something valuable as well. I designed these posts to capture attention while sharing important information about light, air, and water pollution.

Web

As a personal piece, I conceptualized and designed the St. Gianna website, including the name and all visual elements. My goal was to create something engaging and meaningful, using typography and layout to communicate the brand’s message. This experience deepened my understanding of typography and taught me how to design effectively within real-world constraints, resulting in a unique and cohesive final product.

Ship Suds

This soap box is all about making bath time fun! Featuring Scally Sam, who’s lost his bird, and Bubbly Buddy, who just wants to ride the big ship, it’s designed to keep kids entertained while they get clean. The instructions are simple and kid-friendly, helping them learn new words along the way. The real win? A clean, happy kid who’ll want to grab this box off the shelf every time they’re at the store!

The GOAT

This goat soap packaging was designed for a fictional farmer’s market, inspired by past summers working at my family’s market. A family member once owned KJ Goat Soaps and Lotions, and by incorporating a new logo, fresh copy writing, and bolder colors, I created a well-designed packaging series.

RedBull Reimagined

This campaign takes Red Bull to the next level, beyond just “wings.” While Red Bull is known for targeting adrenaline junkies, its focus often misses the everyday person who simply needs a boost. I created this campaign to target college students just trying to survive the chaos of school. These students have heard of Red Bull but fear it might overwhelm their nervous system rather than just keeping them awake to tackle tasks. This campaign shows that Red Bull is safe, approachable, and will help students rise above their struggles, balance their tasks, and thrive toward success.Won a Student Chapter Gold ADDY in 2024

Murder On The Deck

Inspired by my love for murder mysteries, these playing cards are designed to entertain players even when they’re more focused on talking than playing. Instead of traditional suits, you’ll find bloody fingerprints, ropes, notebooks, and magnifying glasses. Have fun trying to figure out whose finger is on the front of the box-because even I don’t know!

Three Wonders

Inspired by a quick-turnaround project and a travel website, I created a series of posters highlighting three wonders of the world. I incorporated the website’s theme and project details to showcase the Northern Lights, Grand Canyon, and Great Barrier Reef in an elegant and unique way.

Mishaps Happen

Don’t feel ashamed when something goes wrong—chances are, you’re not alone. Using data from both professionals and students, I created a data graphic titled “Mishaps That Happen to Illustrators.” I photographed my own arm for this piece and used type and layout to bring the design together.

On The Hook

On The Hook Coffee Shop was designed with the avid fisherman in mind. Tailored for men aged 35-40 who love fishing, this space offers a place to unwind, swap stories, and recharge after a long day on the water. The aroma of fresh coffee and baked goods will keep them hooked—just like they keep the fish hooked with their newfound energy.Earned a Student Chapter Honorable Mention in 2025. Minor post-award adjustments were made to the background atmospheres, with the core design unchanged.
